Dimapur, Sept. 5 (EMN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has expressed gratefulness to the government of India, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom and his department for their approval to upgrade the district hospital of Mon to full-fledged govt. medical college.
‘The approval of a new medical college was a long felt need of the people of eastern Nagaland in particular and the Nagas in general, and a deep, keen and helpful interest to the plight and welfare of the underdeveloped and underprivileged ENPO region by the centre and the state government is highly appreciated,’ a note from the ENPO on Saturday stated.
The ENPO has appealed to the ‘political executives, bureaucrats, technocrats and contractors’ for concerted efforts “in order to see the light of the day,” assuring the people’s support towards fulfillment of ‘this long cherished dream.’
