Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Hundreds of youths are expected to be recruited in hospitality and cruise line sectors at a mega job fair to be held at District Agriculture Office, Dimapur, on October 28.

As many as eight companies in the hospitality and cruise line sector from across the country will be recruiting more than 800 candidates, it was informed, adding that the recruiting company will provide on-the-spot job offers.

Humtsoe also thanked Emporium for taking the lead and bringing the mega job fair to Nagaland.

She said that Emporium is one of the many members of the ‘District Skill Committee’ Dimapur, and as a result, the collaboration for the upcoming mega job fair.

The operation manager, Emporium HQ, Anirban Mukherjee said that this event is different from other job fairs since it is an industry-focussed job mela.

This time around, they are focusing on only two sectors — hospitality and cruise line — as it has been identified as one of the most potential sectors for hiring people from the entire north-eastern region.

Mukherjee also informed that among the eight companies, the world’s strongest hospitality brand 2022 — Taj Group of Hotels — will also be part of this recruitment drive for the first time, along with the Oberoi Hotels and others.

He added that they want to bridge the gap between the candidates and the industries, and the Emporium is providing the platform through the job fair so that they can interact with the industry partners directly.

He mentioned that qualified candidates will be getting offer letters on the same day, while candidates who do not qualify will be provided training if they have passion for the hospitality and cruise line sector.

Mukerjee said that till date, more than 450 applications have already been received for the event and the registrations can also be done on the day of the fair.

He informed that interested candidates can visit the job fair along with their Aadhaar card, PAN card, educational qualification documents, passport size photo and resume.

On job security, Mukherjee said that Emporium has partnered with more than 600 companies since its inception in 2007 and they have not received any complaint till date.

CEO of Emporium, Temjenkala Aier, also said that job security is their top priority and it has signed MoUs with the companies. She added that the intending companies are giants in the sector and candidates would be fortunate to work with them.

However, she encouraged the candidates to do their own due diligence and background checks.

District Employment Officer, Dimapur, Gideon L Sumi, said that youths have to come out of their comfort zones and explore opportunities as government jobs have reached a saturation point and the level of competition is very high.

The job profiles for the fair include front office positions, foods and beverages services, housekeeping, culinary, etc. The minimum qualification targeted for the fair is High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC).
