DIMAPUR — With an objective to promote cleaner and healthier environment, the East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) will conduct a crash course training on solid waste management from June 26 to July 10.
The EDTC administrator, Mhalo Humtsoe, has informed that one member each from every household should compulsorily attend the training. The crash course would cover essential topics such as the importance of waste management, types of waste and their environmental impacts, waste segregation, recycling and composting techniques, and responsible waste disposal practices, a DIPR report stated.
EDTC informed that the training would be conducted in a phase manner within the ward from 9:30 am. It added that free dust bins for wet waste and dry waste collection would be issued after successful completion of the training. Besides, it stated that a certificate of participation would be issued to all participants bearing a code number, which would be required for all services that a resident avails from the council and GBs.
The training for Ward 1 (Zion ward) and Ward 2 (Model ward) would be held on June 26 at Sumi Prayer Fellowship at 9:30 am, while for Ward 3 (Jorapukhuri) would be held on June 27 at EDTC office, Purana Bazaar, and for Ward 4 (New ward) would be held on June 28 at Sumi Church, Sunday school, Purana Bazaar.
The training for Ward 5 (Mount View) would be held on June 30 at Purana Bazaar council hall at 9:30 am, while for Ward 6 (High School) would be held on July 3 at Purana Bazaar council hall and for Ward 7 (Middle Colony) would be held on July 4 at Sumi community hall.
The training for Ward 8 (Naharbari Unity) would be held on July 5 at Chakhesang Baptist Church, while for Ward 9 (Naharbari Highway) would be held on July 6 at council hall and for Ward 10 (Naharbari Valley) would be held on July 7 at the residence of head GB.
The training for Ward 11 (Upper Naharbari) would be held on July 10 at the residence of its chairman at 9:30 am.
