The EDTC was led by its chairperson, Niuto Awomi, and deputy chairperson, Razuo Dozo along with councilors namely Lireni Ovung, Kanato Sema, Manna Zhimo, K Hokuto Murumi, Vicky Achumi, Olotoli A Yeptho, Alemla Tovi, Krishna Mech and Mughavi Swu.

Addressing the gathering, Niuto stated that it is the first time such a meeting was held and mentioned the purpose of the meeting. He stated that meeting was called to discuss on how to approach the development work, ensuring that there is no misunderstanding among them during the process.

Awomi added that churches and schools play a crucial role in building a better society and appealed them to take the initiative in educating the public and students to actively participate in making East Dimapur town a cleaner and better place.

He stressed that it is not solely the responsibility of the councilors to make East Dimapur town move forward and added that without public cooperation, they cannot move the town forward.

In the meeting, the members discussed about drainage system, road widening, constructing public ground and usage of water bodies located at East Dimapur.

The chairperson pointed out that one of the most important aspects is sanitation. He stated that if proper sanitation is not maintained, drainage would always face water blockage. He, therefore, appealed to the public to pay sanitation fee on time.
