Eastern Nagaland churches to observe prayer on August 1
DIMAPUR— As per the prayer request by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), the eastern Nagaland churches will be observing a ‘great three-hour of prayer’ programme on August 1 in the respective churches of the six eastern Naga tribes.
The ENPO had in a letter to the eastern Nagaland churches and organisations on July 18, requested the respective tribal churches to pray for the ENPO officials, advisors, Eastern Nagaland Legislator’s Union and the “talk team.”
The ENPO also requested the eastern Nagaland churches to pray for the president and colleagues of all tribal bodies and frontal organisations, “beseeching God’s unfailing guidance as we go through this difficult phase of time.”
“A fair demand for Frontier Naga Territory (FNT) by the people of Eastern Nagaland is in final stage. As we stand on the threshold of this dialogue; we hope to move forward courageously with the prayers and blessings to arrive at a Peaceful signing of this new arrangement. As leaders we believe that the responsibility to lead and serve the people comes from God and therefore we need His guidance and protection at all times to fulfil his purpose,” the ENPO letter stated.
The ENPO also shared prayer concerns for the central leaders led by the prime minister and union home minister, MHA committee on ENPO issue, Nagaland chief minister, his cabinet and other colleagues and different Naga tribal leaders, “to instill love and affection in their hearts and to extend their unconditional support towards our movement.”
Heeding to the prayer request of ENPO, the eastern Nagaland churches comprising of the Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB), Chang Baptist Lashong Thangyen (CBLT), Khiamniugan Baptist Churches Association (KBCA), Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimukhong (UBSLA), Yimkhiung Baptist Boru Amukhungta (YBBA), and Tikhir Baptist Biti Atükhianti (TBBA), will be observing the prayer programme on August 1 from 5 am to 8 am, in their respective churches and jurisdictions.
The main prayer point is “for a fruitful vision, understanding and wisdom upon the leaders.”
