Taking the opportunity, Dr. Tungoe pointed out that public still has little regard towards the effort of District Hospital in keeping the surroundings clean. While pointing out that dustbins have been provided in specific areas around the hospital premises, he lamented that people are not making use of them but instead continue to litter the hospital.

Stating that government hospital is for the people and at their service, he urged the public to reciprocate by treating hospital property as their own and extend a helping hand by protecting them.

K Wapong Longkumer, Executive Editor of Eastern Mirror who was also present at the occasion, conveyed to the District Hospital Dimapur staff that the initiative is part of public service rendered by Eastern Mirror.

Reiterating Eastern Mirror’s objective in delivering unbiased news coverage, Longkumer while citing an old adage “there are two sides to every coin” to convey that one may find the other side of the coin in Eastern Mirror.

It may be noted that Eastern Mirror had recently installed two newspaper stands at the Naga Hospital Kohima and Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital Mokokchung where free complimentary copies of Eastern Mirror will be placed every morning.
