DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) will conduct a state-wide mega mock exercise, the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx), on Thursday.
In a press release on Wednesday, the NSDMA informed that a siren will be sounded from the Police Headquarters (PHQ) at 9 am, followed by sirens from participating emergency vehicles. It requested the public not to panic and cooperate with authorities for the smooth execution of the drill.
The exercise will simulate an earthquake scenario with a magnitude of 8.7 on the Richter scale, aiming to assess and enhance the state’s disaster response capabilities, it added.
