Dy. CM Y Patton, NAYO condemn May 18 fatal assault

DIMAPUR — Deputy CM Y Patton has condemned the fatal assault incident in Kohima that led to the death of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou, PA to the deputy commissioner of Kohima.

Patton stated in a condemnation note that such heinous acts have no place in a progressive society, and called for the strongest condemnation by everyone. He has also instructed the top officials concerned to act without fear or favour and deliver justice to the family of the deceased by bringing the perpetrators to book under relevant sections of the law.

He also appealed to all for a mature approach towards the unfortunate matter, and upon his arrival from Delhi, assured to look into the matter relating to government-laid provisions and procedures since the deceased was a legitimate government servant under his department.

Patton further conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the soul of the departed to rest in peace.

Northern Angami Youth Organisation: The Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) has also expressed sadness and shock over the incident that occurred on May 18 in Kohima, falling under NAYO jurisdiction, which resulted in the loss of the life of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou.

It said in a condemnation note that the incident has not only brought shame to the Angamis but also tarnished the good image of the Northern Angami people.

It strongly condemned the inhuman act perpetrated by two of its members, Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyü Whuorie. It appealed to the law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation and deliver justice to the victim at the earliest opportunity.

The organisation also extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the soul of the departed may rest in eternal peace.
