Dream big and giveback to society, Shanavas tells students

The principal director of School Education, Shanavas C on Monday encouraged students studying in government schools to dream big, succeed and give back to society.

He was speaking during the launch programme of ‘SaiSure Multinutrient Health Mix to government school children in Nagaland’ at Government Middle School (GMS), Bayavu Hill in Kohima, organised by PM Poshan, directorate of School Education, Nagaland.

Shanavas said that the state government, Education department and teachers were trying to do their best for children’s education. He told them not to think that they are lagging behind others.

While sharing that he once studied in government school, he encouraged the children to aim high, be disciplined and succeed in life. He also urged them to study hard and focus on their studies so that they could support their families and give back to the community.

He informed that a total of 72 schools with 2624 students from Three districts — Meluri SDEO Block in Phek, Kohima block in Kohima, and Seyochung SDEO block in Kiphire — will receive the ‘SaiSure Multinutrient Health Mix to government school children in Nagaland’ under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pilot project through Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust for Three months.

He added that there is likelihood of expanding the project to other parts (of the state), depending on the response in the three blocks.

The principal director went on to acknowledge the Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust for their support, while exuding hope that it will go a long way in helping the school children.

Meanwhile, National Manager of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, Allath Santosh informed that the trust- Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust was formed in 2015 with an aim to provide morning nutrition to address hunger among children studying in the government schools.

He added that the trust started small with only about 50 children but over the years has increased to 5 lakh children, covering 20 states and 21 union territories with the launch of the project in Nagaland on Monday.

Santosh said that the mission of the trust is “Let no child go to school hungry ever”, and the nutrition is implemented in various forms depending on the places.

Shanavas launched the SaiSure Multinutrient Health Mix to School Children in the presence of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust officials, School Education department officials, teachers and students at a programme chaired b, Kikruneinuo Liezietsu, a teacher at GMS Bayavu Hill Kohima.
