DIMAPUR — Two students from Delhi Public School, Dimapur, namely Akshita Vats and Supriya Dutta of Class XII secured top 8 spot in the finals of ‘Incredible Premier League School Quiz’ held on May 19 at the Star Sports studio in Mumbai, which was broadcast on the national channels and Star Sports.
An update from DPS Dimapur stated that ‘Incredible IPL School Quiz’ is a brand new initiative launched by Star Sports, the official TV broadcasters of the Tata IPL 2023 in association with Fit India. It informed that the quiz received an overwhelming response with over 2 lakh student entries and participation from 10000+ schools across the country.
It stated that from 40 teams selected in the zonal rounds, only 8 teams from across the country advanced to the finals. Among them, Delhi Public School, Dimapur, represented the East Zone and became the only school from the North East to secure a spot in the prestigious finals.
It mentioned that Akshita Vats and Supriya Dutta were mentored by the legendary former India all-rounder, Yusuf Pathan, and had the privilege of meeting other renowned cricketing icons such as Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and S Sreesanth. They also received a t-shirt and a cricket bat autographed by their mentor.
Report further stated that their qualification for the national finals not only brought pride to the school but also served as a source of inspiration for students in the Northeast region.
