Documentary film from Nagaland selected for MIFF

A short documentary film from Nagaland called “Shot Await – The Making of Changlangshu’s New Logdrum” has been selected in the international competition category of the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2020 which begins on Jan. 28.

An update issued on Jan. 28 informed that the film is said to have documented the process of how the log drum was made in 2013 involving the cooperation in peace and harmony among all of Changlangshu village.

Though it is now a Christian village, the people still uphold some of the old traditions during the process, the update informed.

Using footage filmed by Sangti Wanmai, Anke Konyak and Megotsolie Dolie, the film is said to have been written and narrated by Anungla Zoe Longkumer and edited by Megotsolue Dolie and Anungla Zoe Longkumer. 

An initiation of the Changlangshu Student’s Union, the film was produced by Moba Langfhoang.

The documentary film will be screened today, Jan. 28 in Mumbai, and later on Feb.8 during the three-day Jatin Das Creative Art film festival for Art and Artists in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.
