DIMAPUR — DMI (Daughters of Mary Immaculate) St. Joseph’s School, Chümoukedima, in partnership with ‘The White Owl,’ hosted a book fair that celebrated the magic of reading and the joy of discovering new literary worlds, at the school campus on October 18 and the 19th.

According to an update, the event served as a delightful appetiser for further reading, showcasing a diverse range of books designed to inspire a love for literature among attendees of all ages.

The fair featured an impressive collection of 7,000 books spanning various genres, including fiction, biographies, encyclopedias, technology, sports, music, spiritual science, and general collections.

“This extensive selection provided an opportunity for students, staff, and parents to explore and select their next great reads,” it stated.

The book fair was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Augustin MMI, who invoked divine blessings for the event, alongside the school principal, Rev. Sr. Rosamary DMI, and vice principal, Prince Varghese.

The opening ceremony included a prayer song led by KipitoYeptho, the students’ pupil leader (SPL).

The fair’s layout made it easy for attendees to browse through the neatly arranged books, igniting excitement among children and parents alike. “Feedback from participants reflected a strong appreciation for the fair’s role in promoting reading habits. Parents expressed gratitude for the opportunity to introduce their children to a variety of genres, while students enthusiastically shared their chosen titles and newfound interests,” it stated.

The event not only aimed to boost the reading culture within the school but also served to highlight the vast resources available in the school library.
