DMC to launch campaign for setting up RRR Centre

DIMAPUR — With an aim to set up RRR (reduce, reuse, recycle) Centre, the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) will launch a campaign on May 20 at DDSC Stadium at 11 am on the theme “Meri Life Mera Swachh Shehar.”

All the chairmen and GBs within DMC jurisdiction are requested to attend the programme.

DMC administrator, W Manpai Phom, informed that the campaign would run for three week and culminate on World Environment Day (June 5) with a pledge for a clean and sustainable environment. He added that citizen could contribute items like clothes, shoes, books, toys, newspaper and plastic (excluding single-use plastic) for reuse and recycling during the campaign.

Meanwhile, DMC would also conduct RRR competition, which would be opened to all colonies. It informed that a self help group/ NGO could participate representing the colony with consent and NOC from the colony council.

It stated that the participating colonies should submit the location of their RRR Centre while registering on or before May 20 along with other details such as name, phone no., and address in letter head. Any colony wanting to participate after May 20 should contact the DMC nodal officer on phone no. 7005245917.

The colonies participating should document each day’s work in short videos and photos (preferably GPS photo).

The competition would commence on May 20 till June 3. It informed that the collected items could be submitted on May 27 and June 3 from 7 am to 1 m at DDSC Stadium.

The results would be declared on June 5 and the winners would be awarded cash and certificate.
