In this tiny state of Nagaland, where our population is equivalent to or even lesser than the government employees of Maharashtra state, our present 12th NLA of DAN government headed by NPF party is again in a loggerhead situation unable to led the people of more than 19 lakhs without soft political will. Another drama is already being created and exposed to the world already. Why only our State? Recently, we had witnessed the collapse of old aged bridge and it was happened at the cost four innocents precious life. Why only our state is lacking behind in terms of good infrastructure? Simply because of taking a share and a percentage which is being deducted from top to the bottom level and at the end only some few amounts completes the work. Actually, the deducted amount is meant for good quality work. This losing of precious life cannot be bought by even a billion dollars therefore safety living is essential to human existence. Instead of cross checking old aged bridges, old aged buildings, corruptions, extortions, mal practises that is happening in and around Nagaland, the so called respected leaders engaged in yet another ‘Game of Throne’ or ‘Thirst for Power’. I wonder how many chief ministers in one term! With so many records had been created in the history of NLAs by our present government such as opposition -less government, camping by dissident group in kazirangka for change of leadership, frequent change of chief minister, holding a post of chief minister without even being a member of NLAs for the first time, setting a pre terms and conditions by the elected members to led the incumbent chief minister to take his chair and vacate it after six months.

Our current MLAs with only few days remaining for them to complete their term thirst for power within the same party had sown the seed and is clearly visible today. In a democratic set up, numbers really matter for majority i.e. either single largest party or a coalition party, a strong and stable government is important to head the state affairs. This current NPF led DAN government is engaging in horse trading politics whereby the ‘survival of the fittest’ is very important to be the head of the state in legislation affairs. But this NPF Party should focus more on strengthening and unifying the party if they really want to face the challenge and overcome the newly formed political parties in Nagaland who are already longing for great changes from before. Otherwise, it would be too late to rejuvenate or rectify it for the NPF party which had been assimilated by power crises within the party and the people are confused. If the mandate of the people gets exhausted or defused or being challenged then the public upheaval and uproar for a new avenues and set up with new ideologies for manifestation of the state could be inevitable in the long run.

Today, we lack strong and capable leader of our time to lead us. It was the time when then Chief Minister Dr. S.C Jamir and Shri Neiphui Rio confidently led the people of Nagaland as a honoured chief minister for so many years and in the latter case until he vacated himself for higher post. To be a good and dedicated leader is to be a dynamic and vibrant leader who led the people without bias and prejudice, with transparency and of course a leader with selfless attitude with more practical work and it is an urgent need of today in a corrupt state like Nagaland. Here, no political parties can triumph the heart of the people for long, because they don’t care the general wellbeing of the people as promised during elections. People’s voice is important and must be taken for granted.

Nagas are kind hearted people and therefore never shows their anger at once but when the nagas patience is tested, shall no Kingdom or Rule can overcome the aspiration and wish of the people. Therefore the voice of the people must be respected. In order to respect the sentiments of the people, the government should first see the needs of the people with good policies and implementation and necessitate with adequate law and order situation to curb the menace of rampant corruption happening in our state and also must led the people of the state with sound and stable government instead of thirst for power for personal interest. What nagas need now is not the fight between the parties or among the party but what nagas really need now are good roads, good drainage system, good electricity, good water supply, good waste management, good facilities and amenities for old Age, good education, employment of the educated nagas etc.
