Dimapur Police recovers body of unidentified man

DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police recovered the body of an unidentified non-Naga male, aged between 20 and 25 years, on Monday.

According to an update, at around 6:20 am, the police received a written memo from the station manager of NF Railway Dimapur, stating that a person was lying outside the track at KM 257/6-7, between the railway stations of Dimapur (DMR) and Rangapahar (RXR).

Based on the information, the GRPS personnel on duty rushed to the spot and found the body of the unidentified male.

An inquest was carried out on the body and it is suspected that the cause of death was being hit by a passing train.

Upon completing all legal formalities, the body was transferred to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.

The deceased was of fair complexion with black hair and was wearing black long trousers with a belt. Claimants, relatives or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the officer-in-charge of the GRPS Dimapur at 7085055021.
