Addressing media persons on Sunday, Saurab Jain expressed his desire to take up Computer Science in the top 3 IITs of the country at Kanpur, Mumbai and Delhi.
For a 19 year old, who does not own a smart phone and not active on social networking sites, Saurab feat comes with sacrifices. Son of Ashok Kumar Jain and Mamta Jain of Dimapur, cracking the IIT-JEE was not easy as he had to devote 10 to 12 hours of his time of two years into studies.
“Making my parents proud was not easy, but consistency and complete dedication towards my effort, made it possible,” says Saurab. Saurab has attributed his father Askok Kumar Jain for motivating him throughout his endeavour.
Alumni of Hollotoli School Dimapur, Saurab spent two years preparing to crack the IIT-JEE at Vibrant Academy, Kota (Rajasthan). He said ‘anyone can thrive if a person is focussed and committed towards their direction with sheer determination and practice.’ He also added that motivation can be a driving force for a person to succeed in life.
His elder sister Sonakshi Jain, who appeared more than happy with his feat, said she is motivated to be more focussed and determined.
IIT-JEE Advanced examinations 2017, which was held in the month of May, drew around 12 lakh aspirants out of which 2 lakh students were selected. The results declared on Sunday saw 36,000 students made it through the IIT-JEE (advanced) with Dimapur boy Saurab Jain ranking 735 in all India rank in the general category.
