Having undergone numerous problems arising from various organizations due to random approval given to them without proper verification, the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has ‘decided to be more cautious while recommending registration of societies.’
This was decided during the monthly DPDB held on October 20 in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, which was chaired by the Parliamentary Secretary of Irrigation & Flood Control and vice chairman DPDB, Jacob Zhimomi.
After thorough deliberations with regard to applications for registration of societies, the Board members and the elected legislators felt that the Board has to be more cautious in approving registration of societies as the government is facing lot of problems due to random approval without proper verifications.
The Board members agreed that more elaborations should be given by the concerned applicants. It felt that the Board should recommend for approval after the members are convinced about the genuineness of the society and its aims and objectives.
In matter relating to opening of new schools, the board felt the need to do detail study in consultation with the concerned department such as specifications of area of that particular school.
Meanwhile, the board decided to approve registration of (i) Hands of Grace Ministry (ii) Rev. Longri Mission Foundation (iii) The Dimapur Gym Club and(iv) Longchen Development Welfare Society Dimapur.
The Board members underlined the importance for promoting and encouraging local artists and approved the agenda for Hive Arts Trust. The board also approved LADP for the year 2015-16.
The board further approved registration of societies including (i) Shiv Shakti Bolbam Seva Sibir Charitable Trust (ii) Tamlu Buhu Union Cultural Troupe, 4th Mile (iii) Dimapur Life Challenge and (iv) North East Zone Cultural Centre Employees Association.
The board entrusted deputy commissioner Kesonyu Yhome, for constitution of Implementing Committees for LAPD. In the meeting, department of Economics & Statistics and Employment Exchange presented the department activities as entrusted in the last meeting. Department of Horticulture and Social Welfare were entrusted to present their activities in the next DPDB meeting.
Minister of PHE Tokheho; Advisor of Urban Development SI Jamir, and MLAs Tovihoto and Zhaleo Rio were also present in the meeting.
