Dimapur district inter-school athletic meet underway
DIMAPUR — The three-day Dimapur district inter-school athletic meet 2023, organised by the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA), Dimapur unit, kicked off on Tuesday at Govt. Higher Secondary School Ground, Nagarjan.
A total of 18 schools are participating in the competition.
District Sports Officer (DSO), Dimapur, Tepulezonu, the chief guest at the opening ceremony, in her address, encouraged the participants to work hard and have discipline to become successful persons in life.
The DSO recalled the sports meet during her school days and how she always dreamt to win medals and go father and higher.
Tepulezonu shared that her dream came true because she worked hard along with discipline, determination and perseverance. She reminded the players that the will to win is the key to unlock their potential.
The guest of honour, Rev. Fr. Jacob Charalel, vice president of ANPSA central, appreciated the organisers for conducting such events.
Fr. Charalel said that the event was organised to give opportunity to the athletes to show their talent and also gain experience and knowledge from the competition.
He maintained that for students, academic pursuit and sports should go hand in hand.
He also advised the students to take risks and make use of every opportunity and not to be afraid of failure.
