Dimapur and Mokokchung approve LADP schemes

Dimapur, July 5 (EMN): Dimapur and Mokokchung districts have approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) schemes for 2017-18. The approval to this effect was taken at the respective District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings on July 5.
Dimapur DPDB meeting was held on July 5 in the DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of MLA and Advisor of Urban Development and Chairman DPDB, SI Jamir.
Besides approving the LADP schemes for 2017-18, the house, basing on verification reports, recommended registration of NS Foundation School in Ekishe Village, 5th Mile, Dimapur; Leadership Ministry, 4th Mile, Dimapur; Excel School of Music, Medziphema; Pillar School, near Sub-Centre, Lane-9, Diphupar ‘A,’ Dimapur; Christ School in Ekhyo Yan, Kushiabill, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur; and upgradation of GMS Aoyimti to GHS Aoyimti.

The board further recommended shifting and change of nomenclature of Kids Care Montessori to Hukuto Mission School and change of nomenclature and ownership of Union Christian School, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur.
Request for approval of sponsorship of ALS-IAS (Alternative learning) was one of the agenda during the meeting. After hearing from the representatives about the activities and dreams of the institute, Jamir appreciated their activities and informed that even though immediate help could not be given, the board may look into it in future.
Other highlights of the meeting included departmental presentations by Irrigation & Flood Control and Department Taxes.
Meanwhile, Mokokchung DPDB approved the LADP scheme during its meeting in the ADC (Planning) conference hall on July 5 under the chairmanship of DPDB Chairman, Merentoshi. Besides, the house also decided to forward recognition of Eden Academy School in Kumlong Ward, Mokokchung town, and DEF New Reserve School Mokokchung for approval.
The house also deliberated on the urgent need to undertake renovation work at NI Jamir Government Higher Secondary School, earlier known as Ongpangkong Government High School, Mokokchung, as it has not received repairing work for many years. The meeting also reviewed developmental activities currently undertaken in the district.
ADC Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, who presided the meeting, called upon the members to actively participate in the DPDB meetings, the CMO Mokokchung, Dr. Akaba drew the attention of the members on forthcoming Population Stabilization Fortnight scheduled from July 11 and informed the house that the department has made elaborate arrangements to make it a success.
DPDB Chairman, Merentoshi, expressed his satisfaction over active participation of elected members in the DPDB meeting and called upon all the members to contribute their best in the deliberations. The meeting was also addressed by Parliamentary Secretary of Tourism, C Apok Jamir and Parliamentary Secretary of IPR Imtikumzuk.
