Truly the hardest material ever known to man called diamond that evolves from stones through millions of years is one of the most priced and dear to all human kind but unfortunately all the stones are not diamond and if all the stones are diamond, it will have no value to us. Here the high carbon-contain ingot diamond when cut and polished only it glitters that that count the value which everybody loves but only few could possess for its high price tag. Similarly all human are not humane enough to be counted as humanistic for various shortcomings where many of us failed to keep afloat in the sea of survive the fittest.
Here, coming closer to the point the octogenarian icon among the Nagas Dr. S.C.Jamir at his 86 years best can be epitomized as glittery diamond as true to the perspective of his life journey as had been recently scripted by Mr.Jugdamba Mall, Dr.SC.Jamir is nothing less than evolvement of diamond from the rock.
And to my limited knowledge the Naga iconic Dr.SC. Jamir was never a party to BJP’s parent body RSS and its ideology but being a secular minded person he respects all religions and that doesn’t make him less Christian rather a plus point of Christianity in him.
Nevertheless, it was like a bolt from the blue on seeing an article N/P on 10th May ‘17; “Is it an honor for Nagas to accept RSS nomination” (Nomination for Vice President of India) citing RSS support in nominating Dr.SC Jamir as unacceptable and untouchable for a Christian can be amounting to yet another cardinal sin for a Christian with such a magnitude of intolerance. This is because the RSS or BJP cannot or never force down its ideology through the throat of Dr.S.C. Jamir but only indicated if he likes and if the region would feel honor to have a person from their own soil as the Vice President of India and as of now there seems to be no pre-condition as such the matter is left to his own volition and liberty.
Whereas, at time our weird thinking exposes our own ignorance thus, making ourselves a laughingstock before the non Christian communities of the world. No wonder, socio-culture, religions can be as complex not only in India and attaching everything to religious’ doctrines can be as fatal as talibanization in the making. So is, Christians are expected to be more liberal as long as our faith and belief is not put to jeopardy or threaten, let it be Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist their support for our cause if any should be welcome as a true Christian.
As the saying goes; “To err is human, to forgive is divine” so is Dr.S.C.Jamir himself is human whose 86 years life journey may not be unblemished in one or the other way but if we are a real Christian we should learn to forgive and see the brighter side of him and his achievement as a politician, litterateur, a responsible citizen where his outstanding in various sociopolitical sphere has been widely acknowledged by the democratic Indians in which we are also a part of it as of today should honor the idea of making him the next Vice President of India without any inhibition. Please take it easy as I penned this in my own judgment according to what I’ve read and heard about the great man whom I never met nor does he knew me but in my own philosophy, right should be always right for whosoever he/she may be.
Dear naysayers, let’s be more pragmatic in our thought and action and make hay while the sunshine that would be a glory to God and man alike if Dr.SC Jamir were really enthroned to the highest seat of the country from the smallest dote of North East India.
