DHO Tseminyu conducts training on encouraging entrepreneurship
DIMAPUR — The office of the District Horticulture Officer (DHO), Tseminyu conducted a one-day training programme on ‘Encouraging Entrepreneurship through Skill Development’ for the beneficiaries under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), on Thursday.
According to an update, the programme was chaired by Vikiepelie Chadi, assistant horticulture officer, who also delivered the welcome address and highlighted on the significance of the training.
In her keynote address, Amenla, DHO, underscored the importance of the need for proper training on post-harvest management to avoid food wastage due to glut during the peak-season and also to tide over the lean period during the off-season of various fruits and vegetables.
She also emphasised that value-addition of fruits and vegetables could be done to increase the household income while also providing employment generation avenue and entrepreneurship development.
In the technical session, the farmers were trained on mushroom pickle making by Vivili J, horticulture assistant,while Achano K Ezung, horticulture extension assistant, trained the farmers on Naga mircha pickle making. Vedechiyi Rokha, horticulture inspector, covered the topic on tree tomato pickle and FSSAI registration.
