Diphu, August 20 (EMN): In order to bring more transparency in departmental affairs of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), under the initiative of the Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang a departmental review meeting was held at Joysing Doloi Auditorium, Diphu here on Sunday. A review meeting was held with officials of Public Health Engineering (PHE), Public Work Department (PWD), Forest, Irrigation and water resource departments under KAAC.
KAAC, CEM Tuliram Ronghang who presided the meeting, said that road connectivity will be reaching in all the 26 constituencies of KAAC under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) scheme. There are 140 nos. of road schemes under PMGSY where a total distance on 1100 KM will be covered.
Improvement of road connectivity will be done in all the nine towns of Karbi Anglong he added. He also said that stern action will be taken against the contractor who drawn bills without completion of work, even FIR have to lodge against those contractors.
All the main roads construction will be start from the month October by September the entire work tender has to be finish and all the main road have to be motor able, added Ronghang.
Concerning to deforestation CEM Tuliram Ronghang said that 80 percent of forest trees have cut down and asked the forest department to take more initiative in preservation the forest.
He further warned all the officials that if any officers or employees found in misused or mismanagement of forest, they will be suspended from the service.
He also asked to stop illegal sand supplies in the district and asked the forest official to be vigilance against the illegal movements of forest product. Illegal settlers in forest area will be eviction shortly in Karb-Nagaland border and in Karbi Anglong -Nagoan border he said.
