DIMAPUR — Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam has directed administrative head of departments and head of departments in the state to ensure strict attendance in their respective offices and to implement the principle of ‘no work no pay.’

During a meeting on Thursday, the chief secretary noted that while there has been some improvement in attendance, there is room for more improvement.  In this regard, he asked the AHoDs and HoDs to monitor attendance in their offices, and implement the ‘no work no pay’ principle, a DIPR update stated.

Alam said that the pilot phase of e-Office, launched in 2023, is functioning well, and as such, encouraged the departments to use the new online platform available at services.nagaland.gov.in for introducing government services in digital mode.

He also said that the government plans to undertake an intensive exercise to achieve 100% coverage of Aadhar across the state to enhance service delivery.

Among others, the HoDs were urged to provide Utilisation Certificate (UCs) on time to avoid negligence of funding and penalty by the central ministries. Highlighting that there are around 115 state level and district level committees for various schemes and programmes, he said that all concerned departments should see that meetings are held regularly for better coordination and performance outcome.

He also asked all the departments to submit their Annual Reports by Feb. 16 for the Budget Session on Feb. 26, and said that leaves should not be entertained until the end of the Assembly session.

During the meeting, Secretary, P&AR, Akunu Meyase informed that the e-vigilance portal integrated with PIMS is ready to go live by Feb. 16 for its first phase in the vigilance and P&AR departments. The portal is expected to be fully live with all the departments on board by March.

On the Lok Sabha election, Chief Election Officer, Vyasan R, requested all HoDs not to endorse exemptions from the upcoming election and to put extra effort for the requisition of vehicles.
