Alessandro Del Piero is expected to sign for Delhi Dynamos on Sunday, Goal can confirm.
The former Italy international has agreed personal terms with the Delhi franchise, owned by DEN Network and shall put pen to paper soon.
On being questioned after the international players draft of the Indian Super League (ISL) whether the Dynamos have signed their marquee player, Vaibhav Manchandra, son of DEN Network’s owner, said, “We will announce at an appropriate time.”
It is reliably learnt that Stefano Del Piero, the player’s brother and agent was in India last month to hold discussions with the Manchandas over a possible move to India.Del Piero scored 208 goals in 513 appearances for Juventus and also won the World Cup in 2006 where he famously scored against Germany in the semi-final.
