In view of the announcement of the general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023 by the Election Commission of India and in pursuance to the order issued by Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer, the deputy commissioners of various districts informed that the model code of conduct (MCC) has come into force with immediate.
The deputy commissioners and district election officers of the districts have, in a circular, notified all the political parties, intending candidates, government departments/establishments, and the general public to take note of the same and adhere strictly to the model code of conduct and extend cooperation to the election machinery to ensure peaceful conduct of the election.
Meanwhile, in view of the forthcoming Nagaland State Assembly Election, 2023, deputy commissioner and district election officer, Phek, Kumar Ramnikant, conducted training of various teams in his office’s conference hall in Phek, on January 18.
The teams present included election expenditure monitoring cell, assistant expenditure observers, video surveillance team, and video viewing team accounting team, flying squads, static surveillance team, media certification, and monitoring cell.
All areas of concern regarding the election model code of conduct were thoroughly deliberated during the training programme, an official report stated.
The DC instructed the officials to be committed in all aspects of election duties until the election process is over.
