DCPUs asked to promote healthy environment for children

KOHIMA, AUGUST 11: State Child Protection Society (SCPS), under the department of Social Welfare, had organised one-day training for the staff of the District Child Protection Units (DCPU) on August 9 at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima.
The one-day programme was attended by the DCPU staff from all the eleven districts, wherein they discussed on topics including – file management, roles and duties of DCPU staff and fund allocation.
On the day, a practical session as well as open discussion involving the participation of the DCPU staff was conducted.
The resource persons were I Tongpanglong, Section Officer of Social Welfare Department; Satahi Shujoh, PM, SCPS, Nagaland; and Joicy Nganga Vizo, AO SCPS, Nagaland.The introductory session was chaired by Rokokhrielie Gwirie, while Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, Joint Secretary of Social Welfare and Society Director of SCPS, delivered the welcome address.
In his address, Nyuthe called for a joint effort of all the stakeholders to contribute towards promoting a healthy environment for the children in the State.
“I am happy that we are doing well, but we have to perform better. Unless we come up in action, people will not acknowledge our services,” he said.
“Let us render our best effort and bring up this department to a position that deserves attention,” he said adding that the staff needed to go all out to every nook and corner of the State.
The first session on file management was led by I Tongpanglong, Section Officer, Social Welfare Department.
