DC Peren restricts use of phone inside polling station

DIMAPUR — In pursuance to the directives of the State Election Commission (SEC), the deputy commissioner (DC) of Peren, Vineet Kumar, informed that use of mobile phone by the candidates, election agents, polling agents and voters inside the polling station on the polling day will not be allowed irrespective of whether it is kept in silent or switch off mode.

The order stated that only polling officials including presiding officer, 1st polling officer and 2nd polling officer would be allowed to use inside the polling station for the communication, if necessary, for poll related and to update to the returning officer.

The DC further informed that on the day of counting no person including the candidates, counting agents, counting officials would not be allowed to use mobile phone inside the counting hall except the observers, deputy commissioner and RO/ ARO.
