DC Niuland lifts ban on mining activities

Dimapur, Dec. 28 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Niuland, Sara S Jamir, has in an order, informed that the ban on all mining activities of sand, sand gravel and boulder has been lifted with effect from December 26.
The order stated that the ban has been lifted under the following conditions and restrictions:

  1. All sand gravel/boulder mining is strictly prohibited within 750 metre upstream and 750 metre downstream of Zubza Bridge.
  2. Only single vehicle to pass through Zubza Bridge at a time.
  3. Only 30 heavy vehicles (two axles) will be allowed to ply on the bridge in a day.
  4. Only 50 dumpers will be allowed to ply per day from Niuland to Old Showuba. 5. All heavy vehicles will be restricted to ply from Niuland to Old Showuba from 9 am to 2 pm, till the completion of ongoing road construction.
