Dimapur, April 21 (EMN): As part of Covid-19 strategy under ‘Mon against Covid-19,’ the deputy commissioner, Mon, Thavaseelan K, launched a sample collection booth also known as ‘Walk-In-Sample Kiosk’ (WISK) at District Hospital Mon on April 20. The project was initiated and fully sponsored by the district administration.

The kiosk would act as a physical barrier between the patient and the health worker during the sample collection for Covid-19, which requires close contact between them, thus minimising the chance of exposure to infection. The kiosk would also reduced the number of PPE being used as the doctor collecting the sample from inside the kiosk does not require donning a complete PPE set, an update from the DIPR stated on Tuesday.

The kiosk would be disinfected with Sodium Hypochlorite spray after each collection.

Meanwhile, the DC also informed that Mon district Covid-19 war room has been set up on April 10 at DRDA conference hall, which will be manned by officials from the district administration, police, health and family welfare and various line departments of the district.

The war room acts would act as a single point for information collection in addition to monitoring people under quarantine on a daily basis. The war room has been coordinating the conduct of active case search throughout the district.
The war room is also imparting trainings to various team members and volunteers.

Besides, four sub-divisional war room have been set up at Tobu, Aboi, Tizit and Naginimora to function as an auxiliary of the district Covid-19 war room.
