Dimapur, March 18 (EMN): In view of the increasing novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the country, Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Sarita Yadav has urged the public to follow certain precautionary steps to prevent and control the outbreak of the virus with immediate effect.
She has advised the public to refrain from holding any social, cultural, sports, political, religious, academic and family gathering. She has also directed to postpone all official gathering such as seminars, workshops, conference in Kiphire district till April 12.
The DC also urged upon all the political parties and public to refrain from election canvassing in any form till further notice for the forthcoming bye-election to 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly constituency.
The public are also requested to keep calm and refrain from believing or spreading false information. She has also appealed to the public to refrain from panic buying of commodities saying there are enough stock of essential commodities available within the district.
The DC also asked the shops and other business establishments to refrain from hoarding and selling essentials commodities like masks, hand sanitisers, soaps etc. at higher rate than the prescribed rate.
