DC inspects AKM conference site

Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner Muruho Chostso visited the site of the 66th AKM General Conference at Chuchuyimpang on January 11 and inspected the progress of the preparation for the biggest students’ conference in the Ao community which is scheduled for January 14-16, 2014.The Deputy Commissioner was thoroughly briefed by the planning cum finance committee, Chuchuyimpang convener, Moasangba Jamir. The DC after inspecting the venue and the conference hall expressed his satisfaction and commented that the hall was one of the biggest conference halls he has seen in the Ao areas.
It is worthy to mention here that the conference hall has a sitting capacity of three thousand people excluding the sitting arrangements on the stage. The measurement of the hall is 130 feet by 200 feet; the stage alone is 130 feet by 30 feet. The Chuchuyimpang villagers constructed the hall using over 4000 bamboo poles.
Several arrangements have also been made to accommodate the delegates, guests and invitees.
With hardly a day to go before the 66th AKM general conference kick starts, the planning cum finance committee, Chuchuyimpang has made elaborate arrangements to make the guest as comfortable as possible.
Tents have also been arranged for the media persons and medical teams will be available round the clock in case of any emergency.
The convener of planning cum finance committee, Chuchuyimpang, Moasangba Jamir expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for his visit to the site despite his busy schedule.
Moasangba Jamir maintained that the visit of the DC showed his love and concern for the Ao students’ community.
It may be noted here that the AKM general conference is the biggest students’ conference in the Ao community which is held after every three years in different villages.
Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio will be the chief guest on January 15 during the main function.
