DC Dimapur urges immediate action on pollution
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB), in collaboration with the district administrator of Dimapur, held an interaction meeting with all colony leaders of Dimapur under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, on Thursday.
According to a DIPR report, deputy commissioner (DC) of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, stressed the immediate need to address pollution-related problems during his address to the gathering. He emphasised that failing to act promptly would incur costly consequences for future generations.
He also stressed the importance of cleaning one’s house, compounds, and surrounding areas. Chang underscored the need for people to change their mindset regarding depending on the government to clean for them.
The DC stated that Gandhi’s vision of a clean India is yet to be achieved and encouraged the leaders of colonies/wards to submit pollution-related proposals to the district administration, assuring them that he would look into them.
Yanathung Kithan, scientist ‘B’ NPCB, Akangmeren Imchen, scientist ‘B’ NPCB, Rongsenben Longkumer, junior scientific assistant, NPCB, and Hanpong Konyak, junior scientific assistant, NPCB, conducted a technical interaction with the members in attendance.
Earlier, K Hukato Chishi, the member secretary of NPCB, delivered the keynote address.
