DBSU felicitates HSLC, HSSLC meritorious students
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union (DBSU) on September 22 felicitated the students from the community who had made it into the merit lists of the HSLC and HSSLC results declared by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) earlier this year.
The programme was held at Shree Shree Ram Thakur Sevashram at Railway Colony, Dimapur, with Kili N Sumi, councillor (Planning and Development) of Dimapur Mucicipal Council, as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Kili remarked that Bengalis have made contributions not only in Dimapur but also across Nagaland, India, and the world.
Stating “Kobe o har manbe na” (never give up) in Bengali to all the students, she congratulated them for their accomplishments and also expressed gratitude to the parents and teachers for their contributions and commended the union for its active role.
A total of 16 students were honoured with the S K Dutta Award on the occasion, of which 12 ranked in the top 20 of the HSLC results.
The top achievers included Pabitra Deb in 3rd place, Sucharita Mahajan in 4th, Ashmita Mukherjee in 11th, Megha Paul in 12th, Urbi Chakraborty in 13th, Ankush Chakraborty and Ranadeep Goswami in 14th, Shreya Debnath and Shoumik Palit in 16th, Priya Rai in 18th, and Tuhin Das and Joismita Biswas in 19th.
Four students who were honoured for securing places in the top 10 of the HSSLC results included Deep Mandol in 5th place and Abhrajit Dey in 6th from the science stream, as well as Koyel Sutradhar in 5th and Binak Debnath in 10th from the commerce stream.
Also, Rudrakshi Lodh from Pranab Vidyapith HS School received the “Matribhasha Excellence Award,” which was conferred by Bishnu Bhattacharjee and family.
