DBHSS emerge overall champions of ANPSA Dimapur sports meet

Dimapur, Nov. 9 (EMN): Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur, won the overall champion’s trophy in the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Dimapur, sports meet-cum-basketball & volleyball tournament, which concluded on November 8.

The two-day event saw the participating schools competing in various events including volleyball, basketball, march past, 100 m race and tug-of-war, informed ANPSA in an update.

Results of various events:

Boys’ volleyball: First – El Shaddai Academy; Second – Community Education Centre; Third – Greenwood Hr. Sec. School.

Girls’ volleyball: First – Lorna’s Hr. Sec. School; Second – Herbert Spencer School; Third – Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School.

Boys’ basketball: First – Christian Hr. Sec. School; Second – Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School; Third – Greenwood Hr. Sec. School.

Girls’ basketball: First – Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School; Second – St. Mary Montessori & Hr. Sec. School; Third – Greenwood Hr. Sec. School.

March past: First – Livingstone Foundation International; Second – Herbert Spencer School; Third – Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School.

Albert Rangthang of El-Shaddai Academy won the best player award in boys’ volleyball and Livitoli V. Awomi of Lorna’s Hr. Sec. School won the best player award in girls’ volleyball.

In boys’ basketball, the best player award went to Rahul Yadhav of Christian Hr. Sec. School, while in girls’ basketball, Kurhozu Nyuuri of Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School clinched the best player title.

In the higher secondary category of 100 m race, the first prize in girls’ category was clinched by Sunepjungla Longkumer of Livingstone Foundation International while Kashili M Yeptho of Greenwood Hr. Sec. School and Bengangsenla Jamir of St. Stephen Hr. Sec. School won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the 100 m race boys’ category, Ghunashe Chishi of Bethesda Hr. Sec. School won the first position, followed by Mhajamo Kithan of Livingstone Foundation International and Chemtipong J. Sangtam of Greenwood Hr. Sec. School in the second and third positions respectively.

In the 100 m race for high school level boys, Imtisunep Imti of El-Shaddai Academy, Albert Meetei and Elvin Misao of St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School, won the first, second and third positions respectively.

In the same event for girls, the first place was bagged by Mehrin of Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, while Moamen of Greenwood Hr. Sec. School and Kezhangunuo Seyie of Herbert Spencer School were declared second and third respectively, it stated.

In tug-of-war boys’ category, St. Mary’s Montessori & Hr. Sec. School emerged champions, St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School, Padumpukhri, clinched the second position and Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School were placed third.

In the girls’ category, St. Stephen Hr. Sec. School bagged the first prize, St. Mary’s Montessori & Hr. Sec. School the second prize and Lorna’s Hr. Sec. School won the third prize.

In the closing ceremony held at Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, ANPSA Dimapur unit President Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema shared words of encouragement, followed by a presentation of a song by the students of Lorna’s Hr. Sec. School. General Secretary, ANPSA, Dimapur, Reji Abraham, proposed vote of thanks, it stated.
