DIMAPUR — A talk on flourishing life was held for the students of Don Bosco Hostel (DBH), Jotsoma on July 22 with Rev. Fr. C Joseph, Counsellor of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama as the speaker.
Fr. Joseph defined flourishing life as “to live within an optimal range of human functioning, one that connotes goodness, generativity, growth and resilience,” an update stated. As a counsellor, his talk focused on stages of human maturity, blockades in the journey towards human maturity and health and wellness.
He told the students to pay attention to their mental, physical and spiritual factors which influences a person’s well-being rather than focusing on a problem. Expressing concern on body positivity, he asked the students to befriend one’s own body, avoiding conflicts and attend to the bodily needs as a responsible person. He concluded his talk by saying that body contains life wisdom. “Hence we need to listen to our body when it sends us messages for the body never lies,” he said.
The hostel director, Rev. Fr. Sunny KS proposed vote of thanks.
