Dimapur, July 23 (EMN): NSS Cell of Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK) observed the ‘World Youth Skills Day 2022’ at the college premises on July 22 on the theme “Transforming youth skills for future.”
An update from DBCK stated that the deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, who was also the special guest of the event, exhorted the students on how to prepare for different kinds of exams. According to Shanavas, the first step was to keep peace with the world and know what is happening around them. He, therefore, advised the students to imbibe quality time management for any competitive exam and to maintain balance between works.
He also motivated the students by saying that it is normal to come across failure, but in return students should learn lessons from failure and work harder.
“Only if you struggle, you will succeed. It is ok to fail, but to learn from failure is important. Self-discipline is a must, getting up at a fixed time and arranging one’s bed will boost one’s confidence,” Shanavas said.
The DC also said that daily games and exercise would accelerate one’s concentration while preparing exams.
Professor and head of Guidance and Counseling Cell at SCERT, Dr. Zavise Rume, who was the guest speaker, stated that anyone could become whoever he or she wants by having the right set of skills and the ability to try.
He also exhorted that skills in communication is the first step toward skills development. Stating that the 21st century belongs to the skills profession, Rume urged the students to get trained based on their personal interests.
