Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) under the Morung Project organised a weekend children’s gathering-cum-celebration of World Wildlife Day on March 3 at Pfutshepa Mapuke in Chizami village under Phek district.
An update from DAN stated that the event was briefed by its regional coordinator, Tshekulhi Aku Thopi, who shared about the significance of World Wildlife Day with the children. He also challenged and encouraged the children to be an ambassador of eco-warriors to preserve and protect the wildlife.
To mark the occasion, a sketching competition was also organised wherein Zoenyu T Mero of class 7 from Eastern Mission High school won the first position, while Wetho Akami of class 10 from Eastern Mission High School won the second position, and Khrokuwe of class 8 and Kewezoteu of class 9 from Eastern Mission High School shared the 3rd position.
