DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7: In view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration, D Block Panchayat, Kohima, conducted mass social work on August 6.
During mass social work, hundreds of colony residents filled up pot holes, cleared drainage system and cleaned the weeds on the road side in the heart of the State capital from Razhü point till Assam Rifles camp. The residents also beautified the stretch of about 100 meters of main town road and cleaned up drainages, surroundings and colony road in their colony areas.
The panchayat chairman Kevisatuo Yhome, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to colony residents, former councilor KMC Neilaselie Kire and KMC inspector Asabu Kire for cooperation and participation. He also thanked KMC administrator, Kovi Meyase, for providing JCB and mini truck; Kewengulo Lasushe for providing materials like cement, sand and chipping for filling up pot holes on the road leading to Panchayat hall; Sachin Pradhan and Vikepelie Sekhose for providing drinking water during the social work.
