Mokokchung, Dec. 28 (EMN): Changki Yimlang Baptist Arogo (CYBA) celebrated its platinum jubilee in Changki village under Mokokchung district held on December 27 and 28 with the participation of thousands of believers from across Nagaland on the theme “Krista Dak Rangben Akangshiba (Fully anchored in Christ).”
Rev. O Alem, who was the main speaker on December 28, spoke on the topic “Rangben Akangshiba nung Arogo Teinyaktsu (The role of a church in re-strengthening holistically).” Dwelling on the theme, the preacher asserted that the church should look after the congregation both physically and spiritually in order to re-strengthen holistically. He stressed that holistic change should be delivered to the congregation by the church to become one with the Almighty God.
Affirming that body, soul and the Holy Spirit are one, he said, “We will be convinced of the changes when we realise and confess our sin and receive salvation in Christ through the Holy Spirit.”
He also stated that the way to heaven cannot be delivered to those mere Christians but instead cost them to lose salvation.
In this connection, he asserted that personal relationship with God would determine their salvation and not on the success they achieved in life.
“To do God’s will, God’s omnipresent is there and he rewards more than what we asked for. Therefore, we should seek God in body, mind and spirit,” he said.
On day-1, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, executive secretary of ABAM, was the main speaker, who also unveiled the jubilee monolith. The sermon on day-2 evening was delivered by Professor Alongla P Aier.
Changki Yimlang Baptist Arogo was started by around 60 households. Today, the church has 2010 members.
