DIMAPUR — Responding to numerous complaints on the poor attendance of head of offices at the district level, Nagaland Chief Secretary, Dr. J Alam, has urged all the concerned to be in station and to issue proper intimation if they are on leave or out of station for official work.
Dr. Alam stated this during the meeting of all the administrative head of departments (AHoD) and head of departments (HoD) held at the Secretariat Conference Hall in Kohima on Tuesday.
He has urged all departments to register in the biometric attendance system and also reminded the HoD to strictly monitor the attendance at the directorate and district offices. He also requested them to send out circular to their respective head of office at the district level to strictly monitor the attendance, stated a DIPR report.
Dr. Alam also encouraged other departments to install the attendance APP currently being used by the Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports, which allows the department to monitor the staff’s attendance effectively.

As the state is set to celebrate the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival 2024, he expressed hope that all the ongoing reconstruction and renovation works at Kisama would be able to complete on time with the assistance from all the allied departments.
Meanwhile, Dr. Alam informed that the government would organise two state-wide mass social works on October 21 and in 3rd week of November in view of the upcoming Hornbill Festival. In his regard, he has requested the line departments such as PHE, PWD and Police to extend maximum assistance in providing manpower and vehicles etc for the social work.
Expressing concern on delay of departmental projects, the chief secretary urged all the concerned departments to take up every departmental project seriously and complete each projects at the stipulated time.
Emphasising on the importance of capacity building and training for the senior level officers, Dr. Alam said that there is no age for learning and encouraged all the officers to enroll in the upcoming training programmes and also to keep themselves updated with the rules of executive business.
He further highlighted on issues relating to court cases of various departments and also reminded the concerned departments of the upcoming PRAGATI meeting on October 30.
