Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): State government has permitted resumption of regular classes for students from classes 5 to 10 in all the schools in Nagaland in the rural areas with up to 50% attendance from September 20.
Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam, issued an order on Thursday stating that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a need for taking further measures for preventing and containing the spread of Covid-19 on re-opening of schools for the safety of students, teachers and all others concerned.
The order stated that the state executive committee had permitted re-opening of schools in the rural areas for conduct of regular classes for students from classes 5 to 10 with effect from September 20.
It also directed that the re-opening would be subjected to all the teachers and non-teaching staff of the school concerned being fully vaccinated (take both the doses) against Covid-19 or having passed since taking the first dose.
“If the forehand criteria for vaccination is not fulfilled, then should have been tested negative for Covid-19 through either RT-PCR or TrueNat or CBNAAT once in every 15 days; and further subject to adherence to all the provisions of the standard operating procedure to contain spread of Covid-19 on re-opening of schools,” it added.
