CRPF donates water tanks to Khuzama

As part of the civic action programme to promote friendly relation between CRPF and local people, 78 Battalion CRPF donated 22 water storage tanks with a capacity of 1000 litres to the people of Khuzama village in a programme held today at Khuzama Panchayat Hall.
Amit Taneya, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), CRPF, Kohima, in his address, said CRPF always had cordial relations with the local populace. Noticing the uniqueness and unparallel traditions of the Nagas, he remarked that Nagaland would prosper as a whole and enable good sense to prevails everywhere in keeping alive these traditions.
Also citing the disastrous landslide in the Southern Angami region last year, Taneya said the people, especially southern Angami and the State government and other agencies had shown true grit by coming together to overcome such problems.
Emphasizing on the need for peace to progress and consolidate by way of studies and creating job opportunities, the DIGP urged on the need for the youth to come up with more initiatives and innovations to benefit the society. In this regard, he also asserted that available government schemes should be taped to benefit the inhabitants and livestocks.
He also reminded that environment friendly works should be expanded to create job opportunities while keeping in mind to protect and preserve Mother Nature.
On the occasion, Commandant of 78 Bn CRPF, Neeraj Yadav, said it has initiated various developmental activities for the benefits of the people. He has, therefore, sought the cooperation of the local people in the future.
While handing over the water tanks, Amit Taneya, DIGP, expressed that the initiative would go a long way in easing some of the difficulties faced by the people due to shortage of water for some months of the year. He hoped that acute shortage of water could be overcome by storing the passing water.
Mehozol Hibo, Chairman Khuzama Village, while thanking the CRPF for donating the water tanks, said water would be equitably distributed to various schools and frontal organizations, offices, churches, community halls, hospital, Eden Garden.
The programme led by Dziivishel Richa, Assistant Commandant 78 Bn CRPF, which was attended by various organization leaders of the village and all ranks and files of 78 Bn CRPF.
