3 detained for possession of illegal arms
Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): The Mokokchung battalion of Assam Rifles along with a police representative during the search of a suspected house at Tuli town in Mokokchung district on March 9, appended one T Sunep, son of S Maran, resident of 17 miles Aitlenten ward in Mokokchung with unauthorised weapons.
Acceding to a press release from AR authority on Sat. informed that one. 22 rifle, one Muzzle loaded rifle, two twelve bore rifles, rifle parts and ammunition of different calibers were found from his pocession.
The accused along with recovered items were handed over to Tuli police station for further investigation.
Also, the Medziphema battalion of Assam Rifles, on March 10 during the operation at 4th mile in Dimapur, apprehended two ‘arms peddlers.’
During the search one pistol beretta gardone vt, two 12 bore gun(double barrel each), .22mm and 12 bore live rounds were seized, a press release from the troops’ authority infromed.
The accused were identified as Kuhoi Swu, son of L Swu, and Sabir, son of Afash Uddin, both resident of Diphupar village, Dimapur.
The apprehended duo along with seized items were said to have handed over to the Dipuphar Police Station for further investigation.
Assam Rifles seize IMFL
Naginimora battalion of the Assam Rifles seized IMFL in Mon district on March 9.
During the search of a suspected vehicle Santro bearing registration no. AS 23H 0317 on Lungwa-Tang –Mon road, troops of Assam Rifles, confiscated 204 bottles of Mc Dowels rum, 120 cans of beer Heman 9000 worth INR 69000.
Two persons identified as Menton Konyak, son of Shomngo Konyak of Mon town, and Nahtei Konyak, son of Konngam Konyak of Phomching village in Mon district were arrested for possession of the IMFL.
Assam Rifles press release stated that the arrested persons alongwith recovered item were handed over to police station in Mon town for further investigation.
