Cricket: Quarterfinals spot for Federation Cup sealed

Mokokchung, August 22 (EMN): Eight teams entered the quarter-final stage of the going maiden Federation Cup Super 8 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on Tuesday.
United Brothers defeated Subash by 53 runs, registering their second win in the process. Electing to bat, the United Brothers scored 87 runs for the loss of three wickets. at one point of the game, Subash score read 34/4.
In the first match of the day, Titans beat Trebuchet by nine wickets after they completed the cahse of 34 runs inside 5 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Titans’ fielding and bowling played a vital role in clinching the victory.
Zungamedem also secured booked their place in the quarterfinals by defeating Red Skin by a margin of 42 runs. After losing their first match in the inaugural day the Zungamedem were in need for a win to enter the quarter final, and scored a total of 102 runs for the loss of one wicket. Red Skins were totally overwhelmed by Zungamedem bowlers who restricted the Red Skins to 60 for six from the allotted 8 overs.
Subash also came back to win against Youngster by 5 runs, after losing to United Brothers, to enter the quarterfinals. In an equally contested match, Subash scored a total of 100/ 3 and Youngster could manage only 95/5 in the allotted overs.
Severance also registered their first win against Grey Hound by one wicket to secure their quarter spot after losing their first match against Vincent.
