CPO organises blood donation camp

DIMAPUR — Commemorating its year-long 150th anniversary celebration, the Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) on Saturday organised a blood donation camp at Rev. Zhaviu Khro Memorial Hospital under Chümoukedima Ward-4.

The blood camp was jointly sponsored by Rev. Zhaviu Khro Memorial Hospital and Christian Institute of Health Science and Research (CIHSR).

The CPO president, Zhato Kimho, informed Eastern Mirror that they are expecting participation of around 150 to 200 people in the blood donation camp.

He also informed that CPO had actively participated on World Environment Day by planting tree saplings throughout the villages and town on June 5 as part of its year-long 150th anniversary celebration.

Dr. Kevingulie Khro, convenor of the organising committee for the CPO 150th celebration, mentioned that a distinctive aspect of the Chakhroma area is the longstanding cordial relationships between the villages with no history of headhunting among the Chakhroma area.

Khro informed that they have organised the blood donation camp with an aim of providing blood to patients in emergency situations, as many patients come from other districts of Nagaland as well as from other states.
