CPO and WSH reaffirm to foster unity

DIMAPUR — The Chakroma Public Organisation (CPO) and Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) have reaffirmed its earlier resolution to work together to strengthen relationship and jointly pursue to bring peace and foster unity among the tribes. Besides, the two organisations also decided to jointly pursue welfare and developmental activities of the newly created districts of Niuland and Chümoukedima and the indigenous inhabitants.

The reaffirmation to this effect was made during a coordination committee meeting of CPO and WSH held on Thursday at CPO Hall in Chümoukedima. An update from the committee stated that various issues concerning the welfare of both the organisations were discussed.

During the meeting, it was suggested that the Dhansiripar JCC should follow up on their file/ application with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) which was submitted earlier after the parliamentary election. It stated that CPO and WSH would extend further support after examining their points and demands.

It stated that a collaborative meeting was proposed between Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) and the WSH to discuss the issue related to the construction of a guest house at the Kiyevi-Lamhainamdi border, a project initiated by the Tenyimi Youth Organisation (TYO).

Both TUD and WSH are expected to come forward together to address any potential concerns or issues related to the project. It added that participation and further consultations was anticipated from all the concerned parties involved to work towards a mutually beneficial development in the spirit of Naga brotherhood.

Report further stated that WSH fully supported the CPO’s stand on the issue of giving Grade IV employment in the government departments to the indigenous inhabitants of the Chümoukedima. It added that WSH will have a discussion with CPO for further necessary action.
