CONPA for Naga unity, reconciliation

The first meeting of the Committee on Naga Political Affairs (CONPA), a committee formed under the aegis of Naga Hoho to work for Naga unity, reconciliation and settlement of the Indo-Naga issue was held at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on April 1. It noted that the problems and challenges confronting the Naga people and supports the ceasefire agreements of various ‘Naga political groups’ (Naga underground groups) with Government of India.
It then expressed appreciation to the achievements and continuous endeavor of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) to bring unity and reconciliation amongst the ‘Naga political groups.’
Meanwhile, CONPA resolved that it shall reach out to all stake holders in Nagas’ land across ‘artificial boundaries’ to understand each other better for building trust and understanding amongst the Naga people and to work to strengthen cordial relationship amongst all Naga tribes and organizations.
It also resolved to pursue the works of unity among all ‘Naga political groups’ simultaneously with initiatives and programs for early settlement of the Indo- Naga Issue.
“Hence, CONPA solicits your kind support and co-operation. We appeal to all Naga political groups to reflect and valued the utmost desire of the Naga people for unity and reconciliation and wholeheartedly work to achieve the same. Moreover, we appeal to the state parliamentarians to sort out their internal differences and crisis with open mind and collectively work for development and providing good governance to the Nagas,” the statement of the CONPA appealed.
