Congress will not form alliance with BJP if voted to power — Supongmeren Jamir
Veteran politician and candidate from 25 Mongyoya AC S Supongmeren Jamir on Tuesday said Congress’ vision is “very clear”; it should be a secular front and would not be part of BJP and its alliance if invited to form a coalition government in the state.
The INC candidate said this during the sideline of his declaration and flag hoisting ceremony at ACC Bhavan at Artang Ward.
He said if Congress comes back to power, they would enhance the windows and old age pension upto INR 3000, which would be paid monthly without delay. Besides, the Congress would reverse the old pension scheme for the government pensioners.
He also said that if elected, he would come down to the grassroots to provide his service to the people. ‘The urban sectors especially in my constituency are neglected; therefore, my key focus will be to improve the urban sector,’ he added.
As an alternative to solve the educated unemployed youths problem due government job saturation, he said a common platform would be created for the educated unemployed youths to accommodate them with all the government programmes and bank facilities.
Earlier, in the declaration programme, Jamir stated that there will be many policies and programmes but without leaders and support from the people it cannot be implemented.
He, therefore, appealed to the electorates for their mandate to materialise the aspiration of the people.
Short speeches were also delivered by President Mahila DCC Mokokchung, President DCC Mokokchung and others.
