Y Patton: Home Minister, Y Patton is shocked to learn the passing away of former Minister Mhonshan Murry (Asha) on January 1 at Kohima. He said late Murry was one of the successful politicians from Wokha district and had contributed for the betterment of the people and the youths of Wokha district. He expressed that in his death, Naga people have lost a Naga leader and the void created by his death will be difficult to fill. Patton along with his wife conveyed condolences and paryed Almighty God give strength to the bereaved family members at this hour of grief and the departed soul to rest in peace.

Chotisuh Sazo: Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker, Chotisuh Sazo is saddened at the demise of Mhonshan Murry, Ex-Member and Minister, son of late Churnbemo Murry, of Wokha Village on January 1 at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, after a prolonged illness. He was 72 years and is survived by five daughters. Sazo said late Murry was born on March 27, 1944, graduated from Cotton College, Guwahati and did LLB from Government Law College, Bombay. He also said he was elected as a member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly in the third Assembly and subsequently appointed as Minister of State in different capacities and also reelected as member from the same constituency in the fourth general election and was appointed as Minister of State for Information & Publicity, Tourism, Law & Parliamentary Affairs. Sazo on his behalf and Nagaland Legislative Assembly conveyed heartfelt condolences and wished the departed soul rest in eternal peace.

K. Therie: President of NPCC is saddened by the passing away of late Mhonshan Murry. Therie said he was elected to NLA in 1974 and in 1977 from 39-Sanis Assembly Constituency. He described him as a tall statesman and a pioneer politician who held many important instrumental positions during his career. “His passing away has caused a vacuum which will be difficult to fill and the loss is shared not only by the bereaved family members but also by the people of the community and state” said Therie. He also conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed the Almighty God comfort and consoles the family at this time of grief. He wished the M=departed soul to rest in peace.

NPF: Naga People’s Front, (NPF) Central Hq. Kohima is grieved by the demise of late Mhonshan Murry at Kohima on January 1. NPF said late Murry contested the 39th Sanis A/C, Wokha district in 1974 general elections winning as an Independent candidate, soon became an active member of UDF and was re-elected in the 1977 general election, and was a Cabinet Minister. NPF regretted the losing an efficient leader whose contribution towards people’s welfare was immense, and a person with legal acumen who retired from active politics. NPF family extendd heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed the departed soul rest in peace.

EX-PAN: Ex-Parliamentarian Association of Nagaland (EX-PAN) has mourned the demise of late Mhonshan Murry, former member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly on January 1, at Kohima.President of the association, T. Khongo in a condolence message said late Murry joined politics in 1974 and was elected as member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly in the third and fourth Assembly. He described him as a dedicated leader who tirelessly worked for the upliftment of the people and desire to serve the people with humility made him live a life of principled public leader. EX-PAN regretted that his passing away was an irreparable loss to the state in general and the Lothas in particular. It conveyed that the valuable contributions he rendered to the people as a politician, social worker and statesman for the cause of the people will always be cherished and further prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
