Common platform for 19 Phek AC candidates held at Dzülhami village
The Dzülhami Village Council under Phek district on Monday organised a common platform programme for the intending candidates of the 19 Phek Assembly Constituency (AC).
The three candidates for this year’s election are Kuzholuzo Nienu (NPF), Zachilhu Ringa Vadeo, (Congress) and Kupota Khesoh, (NDPP).
Taking the stage, Kuzholuzo Nienu called for free and fair elections and not let hatred arise among the candidates. He appealed to the Naga people to follow the call for clean election if the people want changes.
He also asserted that if the party is part of the next government, its priority will be to address the unemployment problem by encouraging and promoting private sector employment and private entrepreneurs for the youths.
Nienu also maintained that the NPF’s top programme for the students is to reward free laptops for all the students from class 12, subsidy for students for all meritorious students for higher education, streamline the healthcare system and produce effective services for the needy.
Towards this, he said the NPF is not just a mere political party contesting the election but a party for the Naga people.
The NDPP candidate, Kupota Khesoh in his speech said that he represents change in the constituency and if the people elected him, he will emphasise on the improvement of the rural economy.
Khesoh highlighted that his main focus will be on development of the rural areas, agri and allied fields and upliftment of the education system in the area.
He also stressed the need to address the educated unemployed youths at large.
Meanwhile, veteran Congress leader and former Minister, Zachilhu Ringa Vadeo appreciated the organiser for organising the common platform where all the candidates can freely express their minds to the public.
He accused the present government that due to corruption in all spheres, development in the state is not visible as all the respective schemes and programmes are not being implemented accordingly.
Further he was of the view that God must have heard the cries of the Naga people for a change in government and the system, ‘so Congress candidates have come in a big number’. He maintained that Congress will form a coalition government with other parties and bring change in the Naga society.
